A man was allegedly hacked to death by his wife following a heated argument at Macha Bolarum in Alwal on Sunday night. Police said the couple had frequent disputes over family matters. The woman was taken into custody and a case registered.

The victim was identified as Srinivas, who lived with his wife Ramadevi and their two children in Peddi Pharma Reddy Colony.

According to preliminary information, another argument broke out between the couple on Sunday night. The quarrel allegedly escalated, with Ramadevi attacking Srinivas with an axe. He suffered severe injuries and died at the spot.

On receiving information, Alwal police reached the crime spot and collected samples.

Ramadevi was taken into custody, and a case was registered.

Police are questioning those connected with the family to establish the circumstances leading to the killing and the exact sequence of events.
