Hyderabad: Man climbs transformer, touches high tension wire, dies on the spot

Hyderabad: In a shocking incident, a man died by suicide in full public view by touching a live high tension wire at Saidabad in the city on Monday afternoon. A video of the incident is going viral on social media.
The man, identified as Akbar Khan (40), a watchman at a building near Dilkusha function hall, lived along with his family in the same apartment. On Monday around 1.30 pm, he climbed atop electric transformer even as people watched, not understanding what he was trying to do.
“Seconds later, he touched the high tension wire on the pole. He got electrocuted and fell from the top of the post and died on the spot,” said the Saidabad police, who have shifted the body to Osmania General Hospital for autopsy.
Enquiries by the police revealed that Akbar Khan had picked up a quarrel with his wife over some issue and in a fit of rage had left home straight to climb on the transformer.
