Hyderabad: A 27-year-old man died, allegedly by suicide, due to harassment by moneylenders at Mangalhat on Wednesday night.
According to the police, Vishal Sharma (27), of Seetarampet went home on Wednesday and did not respond to calls from his wife, who was staying with her parents. Since Sharma did not come for dinner as usual, his father-in-law Om Prakash went to Seetarampet and on checking, found him hanging to the ceiling fan.
“In a suicide note purportedly written by him, Sharma stated he was facing financial problems and had taken loans. Some persons were harassing him over phone asking for repayment,” the Mangalhat police said, adding that investigation was on. Sharma’s mobile phone was being examined, with the police checking whether he was a victim of a loan app fraud.
