Hyderabad: A local court on Friday sentenced a man to 10 years of rigorous imprisonment for trying to kill his daughter and son-in-law, which was reported at SR Nagar in 2018. The court also imposed a fine of Rs 1,000 on him.

The convict, V Manohar Chary (50), a goldsmith from Borabanda, bore a grudge against his daughter Madhavi and son-in-law Sandeep as they had an inter-caste marriage against his wish. Angered over this, he attacked the couple with a knife in full public view in Erragadda. The couple was grievously injured in the incident.
