Hyderabad: Man gets 20-year jail term for kidnapping, sexual assault in Medchal

A Medchal Fast Track POCSO Court sentenced Bikash Kumar Naik to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment for kidnapping and sexually assaulting a minor girl on 20 June 2022. The court also imposed a fine and awarded Rs 5 lakh to the victim.

Hyderabad: A man who had allegedly kidnapped a minor girl and sexually assaulted her was convicted and sentenced to 20 years rigorous imprisonment by a Fast Track Court for POSCO Cases, Medchal. The court imposed a fine of Rs 7,000 and awarded compensation of Rs 5 lakh to the victim.

According to the police, the man Bikash Kumar Naik alias Samir (43), a resident of Medchal and native of Odisha, had on 20 June 2022 kidnapped a minor girl from Medchal and taken her to some place. He later sexually assaulted the victim.

On a complaint, the police had registered a case and arrested Bikash. He was remanded, and after the trial the court announced the jail sentence.
