Hyderabad: Man kills wife in an inebriated condition

The couple identified as R.Srinu (50) and R.Lalitha alias Lalli (45), both construction workers had frequent fights over Srinu’s drinking habit and other trivial issues.

Hyderabad: A man killed his wife, allegedly in an inebriated condition in their house at Takkalapalli thanda in Yacharam mandal in Ranga Reddy district here on Monday night. He is suspected to have axed her to death, police said.

The couple identified as R.Srinu (50) and R.Lalitha alias Lalli (45), both construction workers had frequent fights over Srinu’s drinking habit and other trivial issues.

Srinu, often came home drunk and picked up fights and beat Lalitha. For the last few months, Srinu allegedly had been harassing his wife continuously.

Even on Monday night, he came home in an inebriated condition and when Lalitha confronted him for wasting money on drinking, he allegedly killed her.

“Following a heated argument with his wife, Srinu grabbed the weapon and attacked multiple times. She suffered grievous bleeding injuries and died on the spot,” police said.

On being alerted by the couple’s neighbours, the Yacharam police reached the spot and took up the investigation. Srinu was taken into custody.

The body was shifted to the hospital for autopsy.
