Hyderabad: A minor explosion was reported at Jairam Nagar crossroads in Quthbullapur on the city outskirts here on Tuesday night. No casualties were reported.
Sources said the explosion was traced to a bag carried by an unidentified man, who is said to have escaped unhurt. The explosion however triggered panic in the area, with the residents alerting the Petbasheerabad police.
The man has been taken into custody and the bag too was seized. Police suspect the presence of chemicals in the bag led to the explosion. The bag is being sent to the Forensic Science Laboratory for analysis, while the identity of the man and other details were being verified when reports last came in.
