Hyderabad: The Hyderabad MS Society of India commemorated India MS Day with an Awareness Walk, drawing attention to multiple sclerosis (MS), a chronic neurological condition that primarily affects young adults, especially women.
MS disrupts the communication between the brain and the body, leading to symptoms such as fatigue, mobility issues, vision problems, and cognitive challenges, a press release said.
The walk was flagged off by renowned neurologist Dr. Sudhir Kumar, with enthusiastic participation from office bearers and individuals living with MS.
Holding placards and banners, the group walked through the streets, capturing the curiosity of bystanders and motorists, many of whom paused to learn more about the condition.
Morning walkers stopped to engage with participants, collecting informational leaflets to better understand MS. The walk concluded with lively conversations and a hearty breakfast, reinforcing the importance of awareness and support for those battling this condition, the press release added.
