A one-way traffic trial around KBR Park in Hyderabad led to congestion and confusion at several key junctions on Sunday. Commuters reported longer travel times and difficulty navigating diversions, while traffic personnel were deployed to manage vehicle movement across affected routes
Hyderabad: A traffic one-way trial run at KBR Park on Sunday exposed confusion and chaos at key junctions around the area, with commuters reporting uncertainty over the revised movement pattern as vehicles slowed down and formed queues at multiple points.
Motorists approaching KBR Park from Jubilee Hills Check Post, Punjagutta, Yousufguda, Srinagar Colony and adjoining areas complained that a lack of clarity on the one-way arrangements led to frequent stops and lane changes. Several junctions in the vicinity witnessed congestion as drivers attempted to adjust to the altered routing.
Traffic personnel were seen managing the flow at busy stretches near KBR Park Entrance, Indo-American Cancer Hospital, Agrasen Island, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Film Nagar and Jubilee Hills Check Post junctions.
Commuters coming from Jubilee Hills Check Post and proceeding towards the Indo-American Cancer Hospital faced inconvenience at the KBR Park junction after vehicles accumulated, resulting in heavy traffic congestion as vehicles were allowed to move from the LV Prasad Eye Institute towards the Indo-American Cancer Hospital.
Heavy traffic congestion was also reported at KBR Junction after commuters coming from Punjagutta, Yousufguda and Srinagar Colony were diverted towards the Indo-American Cancer Hospital while proceeding to Jubilee Hills Check Post. Earlier, commuters could reach Jubilee Hills Check Post in just five minutes.
Commuters from Income Tax Colony proceeding towards KBR Park Junction, Yousufguda, Punjagutta or Jubilee Hills Check Post had to travel via Agrasen Island, Film Nagar and Jubilee Hills. The journey took around 15 minutes instead of five minutes.
Traffic from Banjara Hills Road No. 12 towards the Indo-American Cancer Hospital and KBR Park Junction was diverted to Jubilee Hills Check Post. As a result, traffic accumulated at Agrasen Island. A similar situation was witnessed at Film Nagar near Journalist Colony.
