Hyderabad: The Telangana All Pensioners and Retired Persons Association staged a protest at Dharna Chowk here on Tuesday demanding the State government to fulfill their demands.

They wanted the government to clear the arrears in one installment, payment of Pay Revision Commission effective from July 1, 2023 in single phase, pension benefits to be extended to all the pensioners, who retired from service in March 2024.

Likewise, they demanded implementation of Biswal Commission recommendations to extend full pension to employees, who completed 20 years of service. Payment of Rs.20 lakh gratuity as being done by the Central Government and many other demands.

Several representations were submitted to the government and a few meetings were also held but our issues remained unaddressed, said Association president P Narayana Reddy in a statement.

Protests were also held at District Collectors offices in November last. The Joint Action Committee of Telangana Employees, Gazetted Officers, Teachers, Workers and Pensions (TGEJAC) had also held a few meetings with Ministers, yet there was no response from the Government, he said.

During the elections, the Congress in its manifesto had promised to address all the issues after coming to power. It has been nearly 18 months and our issues have not been resolved, reminded association Secretary P Krishamurthy.
