Hyderabad photographer Jeet Aman wins special award for leopard-full moon image
City-based wildlife photographer Jeet Aman received a special award for his “leopard with full moon” image at the Global Big Cats Photography Competition 2025. Out of 1,400 submissions, his photo ranked sixth among the top eight selected by the jury.

HYDERABAD: For the City-based wildlife and nature photographer Jeet Aman, it was an evening to remember when Bhupender Yadav, Union Minister for Environment, Forest, Climate Change, presented him on Wednesday with the special award for the image of “leopard with the full moon” backdrop from the three images of his which were shortlisted.
“Yes, this is my first major award and means a lot to me in the presence of senior dignitaries from MoEF&CC, Ministry of External Affairs, Ambassadors of big cat range countries, IBCA officials, and representatives from leading conservation organisations.,” the 58-year-old Jeet Aman informed ‘Telangana Today’ on Wednesday.
For the record, Jeet’s image was ranked sixth out of the eight top images selected by the jury for the Global Big Cats Photography Competition 2025.
This competition was jointly organized by International Big Cats Alliance (IBCA), Aarts Maestro, and the Uttar Pradesh Eco Tourism Development Board.
“The event was to showcase creative work by wildlife photographers on various big cats found across the world. Each participant needed to submit three images each,” he said.
A total 1400 images were submitted by 1000+ participants, around 400 images were shortlisted for the jury. Jury selected top 100 images for next level and finalized top 8 winners.
“I have submitted the three images of Leopard posing with the full moon setting behind a big rocky mountain in Jawai Bera (Rajasthan) which fetched me this Award, five cheetah sub-adults forming a coalition showing hunting strategy while one tracing a prey and the others waiting in Masai Mara (Kenya), a Terrai male attacking a calf in Pilihit Tiger Reserve,” Jeet said.
“I also won a special award for those three images I submitted – 4 nights in Dudhwa Tiger Reserve,” he said.
Interestingly, only recently, the well-known photographer, who is also the Managing Director of Hyderabad-based Enviri India Services Pvt Ltd – a Global Capability Center (GCC) of Enviri Corporation, global environment solution provide, has been to North Pole for the polar bears and has in fact extensively toured many wildlife and nature destinations across the world whenever he “could squeeze time” from his office work.
