Hyderabad police imposes ban on gatherings, rallies near Secretariat starting November 11

Hyderabad Police Commissioner C.V. Anand has issued orders under Section 163 of BNSS, enforcing restrictions within a 500-meter radius of the Telangana Secretariat. The police clarified that peaceful protests and dharnas are permitted only at Indira Park Dharna Chowk, with such activities not allowed anywhere else in Hyderabad or Secunderabad.

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad City police imposed prohibitory orders banning gathering of five or more persons, processions, dharna, rallies or public meetings around Secretariat from November 11 till further orders.

Hyderabad Commissioner of Police, C V Anand, issued the orders under Section 163 of BNSS and will be enforced in a radius of 500 metres of Telangana Secretariat. The police, however, said peaceful dharna and protest are allowed only at Indira Park Dharna Chowk and such programs are not allowed anywhere in Hyderabad and Secunderabad.

Anyone violating the orders will be prosecuted and appropriate penal action initiated.

The orders will issues following inputs of possibility of protest by different groups over public issues around Telangana Secretariat.
