Hyderabad: The Hyderabad police are making elaborate security arrangements for the counting of votes of the Jubilee Hills constituency to be held on Friday at Kotla Vijay Bhaskar Reddy Stadium, Yousufguda.

Around 500 policemen will be deployed in and around the stadium to oversee the security arrangements and prevent any disturbance or clashes during the counting process.

Armed policemen will be stationed at the counting centre, while in the outer periphery, the Hyderabad Commissioner’s Task Force and Quick Reaction Team will be deployed. Policemen in civilian clothes will also be positioned to keep surveillance on trouble mongers.

Police pickets are being posted at several points in the Jubilee Hills constituency, particularly in Rahmathnagar and Borabanda, to prevent any untoward incidents. Special teams will patrol the localities throughout the day, and drone surveillance will be conducted in sensitive areas. The police officials stated that no permission was granted for any victory processions.

Tafseer Iqbal, Joint Commissioner of Police (Law and Order), said that foolproof arrangements with adequate force had been made. “Cases will be booked and legal action initiated if anyone violates the law,” he said.
