Hyderabad Police start ‘Stree Counselling Centre’ for women in distress
The women in distress will be counseled at the centre and awareness programs on the legal system for welfare of women would be conducted by the volunteers.
Hyderabad Police Commissioner, Anjani Kumar inaugurated the Stree Counseling Centre at Golconda Police Station on Thursday.
Hyderabad: The Hyderabad City Security Council (HCSC) in association with the Hyderabad police launched a “Stree Counseling Centre” at Golconda police station on Thursday.
Hyderabad Police Commissioner, Anjani Kumar inaugurated the centre which will be jointly managed by the Hyderabad police and volunteers of HCSC who are trained for the job.
Anjani Kumar, speaking on the occasion, said that around 200 volunteers of the HCSC were trained in counseling and about the legal system for the welfare of the women. “The HCSC conducted a trial project in Golconda police station and later expanded it to the other police stations in Asifnagar division. All the volunteers are well trained,” he said.
The women in distress will be counseled at the centre and awareness programs on the legal system for welfare of women would be conducted by the volunteers.
The program was also attended by Shikha Goel, Additional Commissioner (Crimes and SIT), DS Chauhan, Additional Commissioner (Iaw and order) and other officers.
