Hyderabad: Thanks to the pandemic the Monsoon Season had to be cancelled, but the Hyderabad Race Club (HRC) has decided to resume the Winter Season from November 19. However, it will be held without spectators. It will end on March 1, 2021, according to a statement.

Horse racing, like any other sport, came to a standstill. However, the HRC decided to resume through Online web/mobile online application based Totalisator transactions. The HRC has acquired high hardware and software at a considerable cost for taking online transactions on the Totalisator from Nov 19.

The statement further said: “For the convenience of horse racing patrons, apart from the online web/mobile application transactions on Totalisator, the facility or morning tickets sales counters will also be operated on live and off-course races by strictly following the Covid-19 guidelines/procedures at Malakpet and its off course Tote centres in twin cities.’’

The morning sales counter will open at 9 am and will be closed half-an-hour prior to the scheduled first race of that particular racing centre. There will not be live offline transaction tickets sold during conduct of races.

The procedure of how to register and use the online web/mobile applications for online tote transactions can be viewed through a video presentation and procedures/steps for registration of account can be seen on the HRC’s website www.hydraces.com and the same is given here under for the benefit of HRC racing patrons.

The total prize money (owner, trainer & jockey) for Hyderabad winter races is 6,62,00,000.
There will be 16 `A’ licensed trainers and 30 licensed jockeys/apprentice jockeys. Further, some of the leading outstation trainers/jockeys are expected to participate during the season.

Important races: Nov 19: The Dodla Pratap Chander Reddy Memorial Million; Dec 13: Golconda 1000 Guineas; Dec 27: Golconda 2000 Guineas; January 10: Golconda Oaks; Jan 31: Golconda Derby.
