Hyderabad: A senior Ham radio operator Dr Srinivas Borra, VU2BOO passed away after a brief illness, while undergoing treatment in a private hospital here.
Known to be a passionate amateur radio operator, Dr Srinivas, more popularly known as Bravo-Oscar-Oscar in the Ham community, was known for his penchant to possess latest radio equipment and antennae.
He was a well-known person among the amateur radio operators and was always keen to share his knowledge with other ham operators. He was one among the very few ham operators who tried their hands on Digital Mobile Radio (DMR) in Hyderabad. He got his amateur radio license in 1994.
Dr Srinivas worked in AP Balala Academi as an accountant and retired from service in 2010. He joined a private company as a legal manager and later enrolled himself as an advocate in the Telangana High Court.
His passion to acquire knowledge knew no bounds. After his retirement from service, he completed a variety of courses. He got his doctorate in law from Andhra University for his work on “Nanotechnology issues and challenges – a critical legal study”.
He did a certificate course on Intellectual Property from WIPO WorldWide Academy of Geneva, a certificate course on Nuclear Energy and Law and also had a Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) from Andhra University.
Ham operators in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh expressed their shock over his demise and offered their condolences to the members of the bereaved family.
