Hyderabad: Suspected drug offender rams car into police team, three personnel injured

Three police personnel were injured after a suspected drug offender allegedly rammed his car into them while attempting to flee a narcotics operation in Hyderabad's Abids. The suspect was later apprehended in Afzalgunj, and attempt to murder cases were registered against him.

Hyderabad: A suspected drug offender allegedly rammed his car into police personnel while attempting to flee during a narcotics operation on Tilak Road in Abids on Sunday, leaving three police officials injured.

According to information available, the suspect identified as Saif of Hussaini Alam, drove his vehicle into the police team while trying to escape. Constable Mahender Yadav suffered a leg fracture, while Afzalgunj Inspector Srikanth and Constable Vamsidhar suffered minor injuries in the incident.

Despite the attack, police chased and nabbed the suspect at Afzalgunj unj. He was taken into custody, and cases of attempt to murder have been registered against him at both Abid Road and Afzalgunj police stations.

The incident occurred during an operation targeting suspected drug related activities. Police said further investigation is underway to ascertain the suspect’s involvement in narcotics offences and the circumstances leading to the incident.
