‘Every Dream Becomes the New Normal’: For many professionals, landing a job at a leading global technology firm is the ultimate career goal. But for Hyderabad-based software engineer Vidhu Verma, achieving that milestone was not the end of the journey. Instead, it became the start of a new chapter.

Verma, who was working at a multinational technology company in Delhi, recently shared an Instagram video explaining why he chose to leave what he once considered his dream job.

In the video, he revisits moments from his time at the company, offering a glimpse into his workplace while reflecting on life after achieving a long-held ambition. According to Verma, the excitement of reaching his goal gradually faded as his workdays settled into a predictable routine.

He said the same office, work schedule and employee badge became part of his everyday life. Over time, he realised he was ready for a change and made the difficult decision to resign from the organisation he had once aspired to join.

Leaving, however, was far from easy. Verma admitted that while he felt excited about exploring new opportunities, he was also uncertain whether he was making the right decision. During his notice period, he slowed down, took a solo trip and spent time with friends and family, giving himself the space to reflect on his next steps.

The experience, he said, taught him that ambitions are constantly evolving and that every achievement eventually becomes part of one’s normal life. Growth, he believes, comes from having the courage to step outside one’s comfort zone and embrace new beginnings.

The video has struck a chord with social media users, many of whom related to his perspective on career growth and changing aspirations. Several applauded his decision and wished him well for the future.

“We need a proper, in-depth podcast on this,” one user commented. Another wrote, “Keep going. Even if you get knocked down, don’t give up. Eventually, you will achieve success.”

Others echoed his thoughts, with one user saying, “Every dream eventually becomes the new normal,” while another shared, “Leaving Amazon at my peak taught me something: comfort is a signal, not a reward. Real growth starts when you walk away from it.”
