Hyderabad teen Akarshana wins Rotary Young Achiever Award 2025

Fourteen-year-old Hyderabad resident Akarshana received the Rotary International Young Achiever Award 2025 in New Delhi. She donated her Rs.1,00,000 prize money to build more libraries for underprivileged children and aims to set up 100 libraries across India.

Hyderabad: Akarshana of Hyderabad received the Rotary International Young Achiever Award 2025 in New Delhi from Rotary International President Francesco Arezzo in the category of Humanitarian Service.

She is the youngest awardee at 14 years, the only girl selected from South India, and represented Hyderabad and Telangana. The award carried a cash prize of Rs.1,00,000, and Akarshana has decided to donate the entire amount towards creating more libraries for underprivileged children.


With this support, she aims to build 76 additional libraries and reach her goal of 100 libraries across India.
