Hyderabad: The Gandhinagar police on Tuesday arrested three persons who were allegedly involved in a robbery at SBI Colony in Gandhinagar last Thursday. The police recovered two gold chains weighing nine tolas, a motorcycle, three mobile phones, Rs 27,000 in cash and a knife from them.
The arrested persons are Kavati Raju (21), Poojari Sai Kumar Goud (29) and Injamuri Dinesh Kumar (20).
Raju was working as caretaker for the victim Shobha, and living in the same house. He hatched a plot with his friends Sai Kumar and Dinesh Kumar to rob the elderly woman of her gold ornaments.
“On the pretext of taking a flat on rent, Dinesh and Sai Kumar visited her house and when she was showing them around, they threatened her with a knife and snatched her gold ornaments. Before fleeing spot, they also inflicted a small cut on Raju’s hand with a knife, to avoid suspicion,” DCP (Central) P Viswa Prasad said.
The police identified the suspects with the help of the CCTV footage of the area. They were produced before a court.
