Hyderabad: The Hyderabad traffic police during last ten days registered a total of 9,142 cases against persons blocking free left turns at traffic junctions. The violators are being penalised under the relevant provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act.
Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Joel Davis said in recent times, obstruction of free-left turns has emerged as a frequent and hazardous violation in the city. “Blocking free-left lanes disrupts the natural flow of traffic, causes unnecessary congestion at junctions, and significantly increases the risk of accidents. Such violations create confusion among motorists and inconvenience law-abiding road users,” said Joel Davis.
He stated that road safety remains the highest priority of the Hyderabad traffic police and continuous special drives are being conducted to enhance road safety, ensure smooth vehicular movement, and minimise fatalities caused by road accidents.
