Hyderabad traffic police dispose of 7,161 pending cases in special Lok Adalat drive
The Hyderabad Traffic Police disposed of 7,161 pending traffic violation cases through a special Lok Adalat drive held from June 8 to June 20. Drunken driving cases topped the list, while officials urged citizens to support road safety and responsible driving.

HYDERABAD: The Hyderabad traffic police disposed of 7,161 pending cases through a special Lok Adalat drive conducted between June 8 and June 20.
The drive focused on resolving long-pending traffic offences, particularly cases related to drunken driving and other violations under the Motor Vehicles Act. The highest number of cases disposed of was related to drunken driving, accounting for 3,804 cases.
In addition, 1,245 cases were booked for driving licence violations, 1,042 cases of minors using vehicles, and 381 cases related to mobile phone usage while driving were settled during the period. Another 689 cases involving various other traffic violations were also disposed of through the Lok Adalat.
Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic), Hyderabad, D Joel Davis, emphasised that public cooperation is crucial for improving road safety, preventing accidents, and ensuring the smooth movement of traffic across the city. He urged motorists to act responsibly and contribute towards creating safer roads for all.
