Hyderabad: The Hyderabad traffic police as a part of Operation ROPE (Removal of Obstructive Parking and encroachments) removed encroachments on Tolichowki road on Tuesday.
Hyderabad Commissioner of Police, C V Anand, who supervised the operation on the stretch for close to two hours, stated that it was necessitated in view of the traffic slow down on the Shaikpet to Tolichowki road. The traffic police with the support of earth movers and trucks removed the encroachments on either side of stretch.
“I appeal to the people including public representatives to understand the problems arising due to encroachments. All the stakeholders should work together to improve the traffic situation in the city,” he said.
The city police warned the people against parking the vehicles on the roads in an obstructive manner. “We will tow away the vehicle or put clamps to lock the tyre,” C V Anand said.
The official said that in last few days the police have seized 1500 sirens across the city. “It is illegal to use sirens and beacons on vehicles. We are going to tighten the special drives to put an end to the practice,” he said.
