Hyderabad: Amangal police arrested two alleged ganja peddlers and seized 35 kg of ganja worth an estimated Rs 17.60 lakh at the Amangal Market Yard on Tuesday.
The police apprehended Kunjam Chandu Babu Dora, 26, a delivery boy from Tamarapalli village in Rampachodavaram mandal of Andhra Pradesh, and Kosu Venkata Sai Babu Dora, 23, a mason from Pamugandi village in Devipatnam mandal.
The duo was allegedly waiting at the market yard to hand over the consignment to an unidentified person when police teams caught them. The ganja was packed in 17 packets.
During questioning, the duo allegedly told the police that a ganja dealer identified as Abhi from the Rampachodavaram area had offered them Rs 50,000 each to transport the contraband to Amangal. The two allegedly accepted the offer, carried the ganja to Amangal and were waiting to deliver it when they were apprehended.
