Hyderabad: Two teenaged girls allegedly committed suicide in separate cases in the city on Tuesday.
At Tappachabutra, a 17-year-old girl allegedly ended her life by consuming a poisonous substance after her mother reprimanded her for not helping her with household chores.
According to the police, her mother had scolded the teenager on Friday for not helping her with household chores. The girl slipped into depression and consumed some poisonous substance. She was shifted to a hospital where she died while undergoing treatment on Tuesday.
In another case, Samreen Begum (17) allegedly hanged herself to death at her house in Bhavaninagar after her mother scolded for speaking over the phone for long durations. According to the police, her mother scolded Samreen on Monday after which she went to the neighbour’s house.
Samreen allegedly hanged herself to the ceiling fan in her mother’s absence. The Bhavaninagar police shifted the body to the mortuary, from where it was handed over to the family after autopsy.
