Hyderabad: VPG emerge basketball champs

Pathak scored 21 points while Mintu (19) and Salman (18) contributed heavily in their side’s win

Hyderabad: Riding on good outings from Pathak, Mintu and Salman, Victory Play Ground defeated Hyderabad Mayors 83-75 to win the Dumpala Narsingh Rao Patel Memorial Basketball tournament, at the Victory Playground on Tuesday.

Pathak scored 21 points while Mintu (19) and Salman (18) contributed heavily in their side’s win. For the losing outfit, Naresh added 20 points while Prasanth scored 17.

In the match held for third place, TSF Basketball team downed Hyderabad Sporting Club 61-56.

Results: Final: VPG 83 (Pathak 21, Mintu 19, Salman 18, Naveen 16) bt Hyderabad Mayors 83-75 (Naresh 20, Prasanth 17, Balu 15); Third-place match: TSF 61 bt Hyderabad Sporting Club 56.
