Hyderabad: Hyderabadis woke up to a misty morning as the winter cold conditions tightened its grip in the city on Wednesday.

Despite the conditions, several morning walkers and joggers were seen going about their daily routines on the roads and parks. However, senior citizens chose to exercise caution over their routine. Regular walkers who usually gather in the main parks, including Krishna Kanth Park in Yousufguda, before the sunrise, delayed their outings until the sun broke through the misty condition.

As the morning turned misty, roadside tea and coffee stalls came alive with people seeking warmth over a cup of a hot beverage.

Given the conditions in the city, the tri-police commissionerates advised the motorists to exercise utmost caution while driving as the fog condition reduces visibility on the roads. The police urged the motorists to use low-beam headlights in fog and avoid using high-beam lights. It also urged the drivers to switch on fog lights upon entering fog-affected zones.

Not just the city, several districts, particularly Adilabad, Kumuram Bheem – Asifabad, Nirmal, Manchierial and Mulugu reported misty conditions.

Eight districts continued to report single digit temperatures, with Kumuram Bheem – Asifabad district recording the lowest minimum temperature of 7.9 degree Celsius. The minimum temperature of 8.8 and 9.0 degree Celsius was observed in Adilabad and Rajanna Siricilla districts.

Similarly, the other areas where less than 10 degree Celcius temperatures recorded were – Kamareddy (9.3), Nizamabd (9.4), Sangareddy (9.5), Siddipet (9.6), Nirmal (9.7) and Jagtial (9.8).

As per the Telangana Development Planning Society, Hyderabad, which recorded 12.8 degree Celsius minimum temperature on Wednesday, is expected to see a dip in temperature to 12.6 degree Celsius on November 20 and to 11.4 degree Celsius on November 21.

Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said the minimum temperatures are likely to be below normal by 3 degree Celsius to 4 degree Celsius at isolated places in the State during the next two days.

A low-pressure area is likely to form over Southeast Bay of Bengal around November 22. It is very likely to move west-north-west wards and become more marked during subsequent 48 hours, it said.

As per the IMD seven-day forecast, due to low pressure, light to moderate rain or thundershowers are very likely to occur in isolated places in the State from November 22 to 26.
