Hyderabad: A woman was run over by a truck after she fell off the scooter on which she was pillion riding with her husband at Medchal on Wednesday.
The victim, R Manjula (41), a resident of Old Bowenpally and native of Manepally in Medak district, was returning from her native place on the scooter with her husband R Srinivas when the accident took place.
“As they were traveling on the road between Medchal check-post and Majeedpur, the couple fell off the scooter and Manjula came under the rear wheel of the truck. Death was instant for her,” the Medchal police said, adding that Srinivas survived without serious injuries.
The police shifted the body to Gandhi Hospital mortuary for autopsy. The police have registered a case and are investigating.
