Hyderabad: A jilted lover stabbed the woman with whom he was earlier in a relationship at Hasthinapuram on Wednesday. He attacked her after she got engaged to another man, police said.
The woman, who suffered multiple stab injuries, is being treated at hospital.
According to the police, the duo Basawa Raj and B Shireesha (20) were in a relationship for over a year. However, she got engaged to another man three months ago.
Ever since, there were frequent arguments between them. Basawa Raj, who believed she had cheated him, bore a grudge against her and on Wednesday afternoon, went to her room with a knife and after an argument, stabbed her multiple times.
Those present there rushed to her rescue and caught Basawa Raj, who was handed over to the police.
The LB Nagar police are investigating.
