Hyderabad women defeat Tripura in BCCI one-day championship opener

Hyderabad: A fine knock by Sandhya Gora (72) and an impressive spell by off-spinner Kesari Drithi (five for 25) helped Hyderabad record a 58-run win against Tripura in the BCCI Senior Women’s One-Day Cricket Championship first-round match at Ranchi on Friday.
Batting first, Hyderabad scored 201 for eight in 50 overs with Sandhya and K Niteesha (58) batting well.
In reply, Tripura was bowled out for 143 in 39.1 overs with Drithi, making her senior debut, being the wrecker-in-chief.
The scores: Hyderabad 201/8 in 50 overs (Sandhya Gora 72, K Niteesha 58, AB Das 4/31) bt Tripura 143/10 in 39.1 overs (JR Debnath 32, RR Saha 39, Indra Rani 31, Kesari Drithi 5/25).
Hyderabad dominates
Hyderabad dominated the first day’s play, scoring 55 for no loss after skittling out Assam for 246 on the opening day of the four-day Col CK Nayudu Trophy (Under-23) cricket championship league match on Friday.
Assam, batting first, scored 246 in 76.5 overs with Parvej Musraf (72) and Pradyun Saikia (53) being the only batters to show discipline against fine bowling by MA Malik, who claimed five for 59.
In reply, Hyderabad finished the day without losing a wicket, with P Aman Rao unbeaten on 40.
The scores: 1st day: Assam 246 in 76.5 overs (Parvej Musraf 72, Pradyun Saikia 53, Ayushman Malakar 43, MA Malik 5/59) vs Hyderabad 55/0 in 11 overs (P Aman Rao 40 batting).
Andhra takes lead
Andhra grabbed a vital first-innings lead of 182 runs against Hyderabad, scoring 485 in reply to the visitors’ 303 in the two-day South Zone Inter-State Under-14 Cricket Championship match at Vizianagaram on Friday.
For Andhra, Thonda Kinnu (103, 109b, 13×4) and PVSR Varma (106, 137b, 14×4) were the star performers.
The scores: Hyderabad 303/10 in 69.5 overs & 23/0 in 11 overs drew with Andhra 485/9 in 90 overs (Thonda Kinnu 103, PVSR Varma 106, KP Sriram 84, B Sai Krishna 70, C Manchem 36, Varun Yadav 3/87).
Mayank Gupta slams ton
Mayank Gupta cracked a brilliant century (183, 270b, 16×4, 1×6) for Evergreen against EMCC in the A-Division two-day league championship final here on Friday.
The scores: A-Division two-day league final: Evergreen 247 in 57.2 overs & 431/7 in 90 overs (Mayank Gupta 183, G Aniketh Reddy 98, Chandan Sahani 87, M Rithvik 3/74) vs EMCC 263 in 78.4 overs & 143/1 in 30 overs (CP Venkatesh 69 batting, S Rohith Reddy 35 batting).
Warangal, Mahabubnagar move into final
Warangal and Mahabubnagar entered the final of the HCA Senior Women’s Inter-District T20 Cricket Championship.

Semifinals: Warangal 149/5 in 20 overs (G Mohanasri 31, T Krishnaveni 40) bt Adilabad 102 in 19 overs (Sri Harshini 34, M Navya 3/10, M Soumya Sri 3/25).
