Hyderabad: A workshop to harness smart technologies for forestry students was organised by Forest College and Research Institute (FCRI) Hyderabad in association with Centurion University of Technology and Management, Odisha on Tuesday.
The workshop deliberated on ways and means of improving skill sets of forestry students as per the New Educational Policy. The workshop was inaugurated by FCRI Dean Priyankaa Varghese. Retired IAS officer B P Acharya, who attended the event as a guest, shared his views on setting up an incubator facility for start-ups in forestry.
New technologies with a fusion of virtual and physical worlds such as LiDAR, UAV, drones using technology, cloud computing etc will be incorporated into the curriculum in partnership with industry and the students will pass out with industry-ready job skills, experts at the programme said.
The workshop was attended by the faculty members and students of FCRI, along with administrative staff members.
