Hyderabad youth drowns in Gundam waterfalls in Mulugu
A 23-year-old man from Hyderabad drowned while swimming in the Gundam waterfalls at Arunachalapuram in Mulugu district. Forest and police officials recovered the body after the victim reportedly entered the restricted area with three friends early on Sunday
Mulugu: A youth from Hyderabad drowned in the Gundam waterfalls at Arunachalapuram in Wazedu mandal of the district on Sunday.
The deceased, Syed Aktharuddin (23) of Gajularamaram in Hyderabad, arrived at the waterfalls during the wee hours along with three friends. Though visitors were not allowed to enter the waterfalls, the four went swimming early in the day when guards were not present.
As Aktharuddin could not gauge the depth of the water, he drowned in the waterfalls, while the three others escaped safely. Upon receiving information, local Deputy Forest Range Officer Narender and Wazedu SI Jakkula Sathish visited the spot and recovered the youth’s body.
