Hyderabad zoo abuzz with visitors on reopening day

Hyderabad: After remaining closed for nearly 70 days due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, the Nehru Zoological Park opened its doors for visitors on Sunday.
It being a weekend, several families came to the park and according to the zoo officials, a total of 2,536 animal lovers visited the park today. The zoo authorities took all the Covid-19 precautions to ensure the visitors’ and staff safety. All the visitors were checked with thermal scanning before entering in the zoo and wearing face mask in the park’s premises is mandatory.
The officials also made markings in front of the booking counter for maintaining social distancing. Inside the zoo as well, the officials have taken all the Covid precautionary measures and nearly 40 sanitiser dispensers have been placed at different locations. All the washrooms were also sanitised properly and the soap dispensers have been placed.
One of the biggest attraction at the zoo, especially among the kids, the battery operated Toy Train also started functioning from today. To ensure the safety of those boarding, the train facility was started with only 50 per cent occupancy.
Sign boards on Covid-19 precautions were placed at different locations for the visitors along with penalties to be imposed upon violation of the pandemic norms.
