Hyderabad zoo hosts poster exhibition on Mouse Deer
Poster exhibition on Mouse Deer conducted as part of 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav' programme

Hyderabad: As part of the ongoing week-long ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ being hosted by the Nehru Zoological Park, A Nagamani, Deputy Curator of the zoo inaugurated a poster exhibition on Mouse Deer.
Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Curator said Nehru Zoological Park have initiated the Mouse Deer conservation breeding programme in 2010 with six individuals transported from other zoos.
After successful breeding, the first batch of Mouse Deer were soft released into the wild in 2017, and subsequently in the other wildlife sanctuaries of Telangana.
Plantation of wild fruit trees at zoo, for frugivorous birds and animals was started by the Curator, Subhadra Devi. The zoo is currently hosting a series of events as part of the seventy-fifth Independence anniversary of India.
