HYDRAA keen to facelift Cherlapally Cheruvu and make it as tourist spot in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: Hyderabad Disaster Management and Asset Protection Agency (Hydraa) will take steps to revive the Cherlpally cheruvu and develop it as a tourist destination by providing various amenities.
Following a request by the Director General of Prisons, Soumya Misra on revival of the Cherlapally cheruvu, Hydraa Commissioner AV Ranganath on Thursday visited the water body and assured efforts to revive it and make it a drinking water source and one of the tourist destinations in the city.
AV Ranganath said, “Cherlapally cheruvu, spread over 58 acres, will be revived, and efforts will be taken to strengthen the shore area, build walkways, install fencing, solar system lighting, set up CCTVs, and certain beautification works.” Officials were asked to prepare a detailed project report.
Soumya Misra, said water reaches Cherlapally cheruvu from Nagireddukunta, Kapra Cheruvu, Mothulakunta, and Bison Kunta and the industrialists of Cherlapally were keen to contribute funds under their CSR to develop the cheruvu.
