Hyderabad: Hyderabad Disaster Management and Asset Protection Agency (Hydraa) will deploy drones to prevent government lands from getting encroached again.
On Monday, Hydraa Commissioner AV Ranganath said the decision to deploy drones for monitoring was taken after authorities noticed that land grabbers were creating fake survey numbers on such reclaimed lands.
“The land grabbers are constructing illegal sheds. They are even renting out these vacant lands for parking private buses for financial gains,” he said.
All such reclaimed lands are on the prohibited list and will not get any building permissions. A large number of such government lands worth crores are now being identified by Hydraa. Illegal possession of such lands is taken back into government control by erecting fencing and notice boards,” he said.
Ranganath said that to protect such reclaimed assets, Hydraa will regularly patrol and monitor the areas using drones.
