ITC MSK-Pratham reaching out to agency youths offering livelihood support
Under the programme, selected candidates would be offered a residential vocational training for 60 days in electrician and solar technician courses for men at Electrical Training Centre at Burgampad.
Kothagudem: ITC Mission Sunehra Kal (MSK) and Pratham Education Foundation have been reaching out to unemployed rural youths imparting free residential livelihood training in Kothagudem, Khammam and Mulugu districts.
According to the programme Bhadrachalam cluster mentor R Uppal, as many as 2,996 youths have been trained while 2,515 youths were provided placement during the last eight years. As part of the ITC’s initiative of sustainable and inclusive growth, it is planning to train about 1,500 candidates by the end of this year.
Under the programme, selected candidates would be offered a residential vocational training for 60 days in electrician and solar technician courses for men at Electrical Training Centre at Burgampad. Similarly a 45-day beautician course is being offered for women in Bhadrachalam.
Candidates, who have completed qualifications from 8th class to degree, PG, diploma and ITI, whether passed or failed, could apply for these courses by visiting the centres at Burgampad and Bhadrachalam with relevant documents. All the selected candidates would be provided study material, food, uniform, shoes and bags at no cost.
Speaking to Telangana Today, Uppal informed that Bhadrachalam cluster approached the district police seeking their support for the registration of students in centres and conducting a selection fair at the district level by the end of June.
Superintendent of Police B Rohith Raju, Bhadrachalam ASP Vikrant Kumar Singh, CRPF officer Preetha and other officials agreed to support the mission. The police have been requested to mobilise ST, SC, BC and other community youths under jurisdiction of their police stations in order to provide training and employment to them, he noted.
The cluster head N Naresh Kumar and Telangana head B Hanumanth stated that so far 75 batches have been trained and over 2,000 youths received job offers in different parts of the State. Burgampad electrical training centre was recognised as the best training centre last year, said ITC Manager (HR) Chengal Rao and he expressed appreciation for all those who contributed to this achievement.
