Sangareddy: Finance Minister T Harish Rao instructed the elected representatives and officials of Sanagreddy district to complete the selection of 100 Dalit Bandhu beneficiaries from each of the constituencies in the erstwhile Medak district by February first week.
During a review meeting with MLAs, Collectors and Additional Collectors of Sangareddy, Siddipet and Medak districts on Thursday, the Minister said that the Dalit Bandhu units must be grounded by March 5. While the Rs 9.90 lakh will be deposited in the bank accounts of beneficiaries, Rao said that the remaining Rs 10,000 will be deposited in Dalit Rakshana Nidhi for which the government will deposit an additional Rs 10,000.
Stating that an individual could set up three separate units with the Rs 10 lakh granted, the Minister said that two and three beneficiaries could join hands to set up a single unit too. Since the Dalit Raksha Nidhi fund will be with District Collectors, Rao said that it will be useful if any beneficiary suffered a loss in the business.
The Minister has also reviewed the progress of various development works underway in the erstwhile Medak district. MLAs Padma Devendar Reddy, Vodithela Sathish Kumar, Chanti Kranthi Kiran, K Manik Rao, Collector (Sangareddy and Siddipet M Hanumantha Rao, S Harish (Medak) and others were present.
