IETE Students Forum launched at Priyadarshini Women’s Engineering College Khammam

Khammam: The Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (IETE) Students Forum was launched at Priyadarshini Institute of Science and Technology for Women in Khammam and a memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed by the two institutions.
The college Chairman Katepalli Naveen Babu said that the IETE Students Forum serves as a platform for electronics and telecommunication engineering students to actively participate in technical learning, networking with industry experts. It helps students to get exposure to emerging trends in the field enhancing their academic and career development.
IETE, Vijayawada centre chairman, Dr B Surya Prasad Rao said that IETE, established in 1953, was a leading professional society dedicated to the advancement of science and technology in electronics, telecommunications, information technology and computer science.
The Union Ministry of Science and Technology, Department of Scientific and Industrial Research recognised IETE as a Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (SIRO). The IETE would start an incubation centre in the college, he said.
Students would be required to develop prototypes, patent prototypes, publish research papers, develop indexed journals and participate in technical exhibitions, presentations and workshops for which some weightage would be given to them, he informed.
The IETE secretary Dr Sheikh Riazuddin said the IETE chapter on the campus would enhance the reputation of the institution and facilitate industry relations. The IETE Vijayawada centre was actively functioning with 50 ISF chapters and prizes would be given to the best ISF of them.
The college principal Dr B Gopal, academic director Atluri Venkataramana, department heads D Ramesh (Electronics and Communication), Injam Narasimha Rao (Computer Science), M Venkateswara Rao (CSM and AID) and IQAC coordinator N Jayamma were present, said a release here on Friday.
