Hyderabad: With an aim to support startups working in the social space, IIIT-Hyderabad’s Atal Incubation Centre (AIC) along with EPAM has launched a Covid support acceleration programme called Raftaar.
As part of the programme, four startups have been selected and will be provided with a grant of Rs 3,00,000 and other non-financial supports.
Out of the four startups, one is based in Hyderabad called Jivoule Biofuels, which is a tech-enabled supply chain for collection of used cooking oil and convert it into bio-diesel. This bio-diesel can be blended with regular diesel to reduce carbon emission and can be utilised as a bio-diesel without any alteration of current automobiles.
The other three startups are – Tekra Solutions (myUDAAN) that provides Mobility Assistance for persons with a disability and the elderly; Intech Harness, a patented, IoT-enabled pump controller for farmers facing erratic power and water conditions to automate farm irrigation and ClimateX which is an integrated decision support platform (SaaS) that provides urban climate intelligence to the property, construction, financial, insurance and government sectors.
Prof. Ramesh Loganathan, director of AIC-IIITH said, “This is a timely programme that has been designed in keeping with the institute’s credo of encouraging research and education that makes a difference.”
