IIMC hosts Sahitya Samalochana to honour Telugu literary icons
A one-day national seminar titled ‘Sahiti Murtula Sahitya Samalochana’ was held at IIMC College to mark Telangana Language Day and commemorate the birth anniversaries of iconic Telugu writers.

Hyderabad: With the courtesy of the Telangana State Council of Higher Education, the Department of Telugu at IIMC and the Telugu Bhasha Chaitanya Samithi organised a one-day national seminar titled ‘Sahiti Murtula Sahitya Samalochana’ (Literary Reflections of Literary Icons) at IIMC College on September 10.
The event was held to commemorate the birth anniversaries of literary stalwarts Daasarathi Krishnamachary, Kaloji Narayana Rao, C. Narayana Reddy, and Dasarathi Rangacharya on the occasion of Telangana Language Day.
In the inaugural session, the Vice Chairman of the Telangana State Council of Higher Education, Itikala Purushottam, unveiled the ‘Collection of Essays’, comprising the works of 92 paper presenters.
Later, Dr. Rajini, Dr. Masana Chinnappa, and Telangana Sahitya Academy Secretary Namoju Balachari delivered their addresses.
The paper presentation sessions were held under panels named after the stalwarts — Kaloji Vedika, Dasarathi Rangacharya Vedika, Krishnamachary Vedika, and Cinare Vedika. The valedictory session was attended by Osmania University Arts College Principal, Prof. Kasim and Hyderabad Central University Professor Pilla Marri Ramulu.
