Sangareddy: Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad (IITH) entered into a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Mitsubishi Electric Corporation, Japan, to deepen industry–academia collaboration in science, engineering and advanced technologies. The agreement, effective for a three-year period from 2026 to 2029, aims to accelerate joint research, global knowledge exchange, and societal deployment of cutting-edge innovations.

Under the MoU, IITH and Mitsubishi Electric will collaborate across key future-facing domains, including artificial intelligence, quantum technologies and cybersecurity. The partnership also places strong emphasis on human resource development, with structured programmes for student internships, researcher exchange, joint publications, lectures, workshops and hackathons, enabling students and faculty to gain exposure to global R and D ecosystems.

Speaking on the partnership, IITH Director Prof BS Murty said the agreement will reflect IITH’s commitment to integrating advanced research with real-world impact. He highlighted that sustained engagement with global industry leaders such as Mitsubishi Electric strengthens IITH’s efforts in next-generation technologies.
