IIT-Hyderabad student wins HPCL’s young scientist award
The project, Pencil Lead as a Graphite-Silica composite anode for high-performance Lithium-ion Batteries, by Alok Pandey, a student of Department of Chemical Engineering was chosen for the award
Sangareddy: Alok Pandey, a student of Department of Chemical Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology-Hyderabad (IIT-H), has been selected for Hindustan Petroleum Chemicals Limited (HPCL) New Generation Ideation Contest-2020. Alok Pandey will get Rs one lakh cash prize.
Out of the 356 entries the HPCL received, nine young scientists from across the nation were presented awards after evaluating the proposed projects. The project, Pencil Lead as a Graphite-Silica composite anode for high-performance Lithium-ion Batteries, chosen for this award. The same project was selected for INAE (Indian National Academy of Engineering) best innovative project award for the year 2020 for Undergraduate category.
Dr Mamidi Suresh,a postdoctoral researcher, is a member of the project. Alok Pandey worked under the supervision of Prof Chandrashekar Sharma, Associate Professor at Department of Chemical Engineering.
