Mancherial: The Indian Medical Association’s Mancherial chapter strongly condemned the assault on a paediatrician in Nirmal recently.

In a statement, the IMA Mancherial district president Dr Ravi Prasad and secretary Dr Anil Muttineni termed the attack a clear attempt to coerce a medical professional into fraudulent activity through violence and mobocracy. “We will not tolerate the victimisation of doctors for upholding professional integrity,” they reiterated, demanding the government immediately arrest the perpetrators.

Meanwhile, the Telangana Public Health Doctors Association (TPHDA) condemned the assault on the paediatrician Dr Santosh Raj. The state coordinator of the association, Dr Koppula Balaji, expressed concern over assaults on doctors in private hospitals at regular intervals. He demanded the government take steps for the quick arrest of the culprits and prevent the recurrence of similar incidents in future.
