Hyderabad: While the month of April was gruelling with maximum temperatures touching 45 degree Celsius in some districts, the first week of May could bring some respite.
On Friday, India Meteorological Department (IMD), Hyderabad forecast indicated that the first week of May will be characterized by a notable temperature dip and above-normal rainfall.
While Telangana will see overall relief, the transition, however, will be gradual depending on the region. The northern districts of Telangana like Adilabad and Nizamabad will continue to face three more days of intense heat, with temperatures ranging between 41 degree Celsius and 44 degree Celsius. By May 4, however, due to rains, a drop in temperatures is expected to take place.
Hyderabad and surrounding districts of Sangareddy, Vikarabad, Rangareddy, Medchal-Malkajgiri and Bhongir, can expect immediate relief, with temperatures stabilized under 40 degree Celsius from May 1 or May 2.
Generally, across Telangana, the maximum temperatures for the first week of May are expected to remain below normal for this time of year, IMD, Hyderabad said. A combination of a cyclonic circulation over interior Maharashtra and a trough extending through Tamil Nadu is expected to cause rains in the Telangana region.
