IMD Hyderabad issues orange alert for heavy rainfall in Telangana districts
The IMD-Hyderabad has issued an orange alert for heavy to very heavy rains in 15 northeastern Telangana districts from Tuesday to Thursday. Hyderabad and nearby areas will see moderate showers, with thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds expected statewide

Hyderabad: The influence of the low-pressure area that formed over the Bay of Bengal continues to affect Telangana. On Monday evening, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD)-Hyderabad has issued a heavy to very heavy rainfall warning for all the northeastern districts from Tuesday to Thursday.
While Hyderabad and its neighboring districts, including Medchal-Malkajgiri, Rangareddy, Vikarabad, Medak, and Yadadri Bhongir, are expected to receive light to moderate showers, multiple districts across the eastern and northern regions are expected to receive rainfall ranging from 115.6 mm to 204.4 mm.
An orange alert for heavy to very heavy rainfall between Tuesday and Thursday has been issued for the districts of Bhadradri Kothagudem, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Mulugu, Peddapalli, Adilabad, Hanumakonda, Jagityal, Karimnagar, Khammam, Komaram Bheem Asifabad, Mahabubabad, Mancherial, Warangal, and Nirmal. According to the IMD-Hyderabad’s forecast on Monday, some other districts, including Nizamabad and Rajanna Siricilla, can also expect heavy to very heavy rainfall in the coming two to three days.
Apart from this, the IMD-Hyderabad has indicated that “thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds (30-40 kmph) are very likely to occur at isolated places in all districts of Telangana.”
