The IMD-Hyderabad has issued an orange alert for heavy to very heavy rains in 15 northeastern Telangana districts from Tuesday to Thursday. Hyderabad and nearby areas will see moderate showers, with thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds expected statewide
After a brief sunny spell, overcast skies return to Hyderabad and Telangana. The IMD has issued a heavy rainfall warning for the next 48 hours due to a developing low-pressure area over the Bay of Bengal, affecting nearly all districts.
According to the Hyderabad MET forecast, maximum temperatures across Telangana are expected to remain between 36°C and 40°C until May 15. In addition, widespread thunderstorms, accompanied by lightning and gusty winds, are likely to affect the state throughout the coming week.
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD)-Hyderabad on Wednesday afternoon indicated that heat wave conditions will continue to prevail till this Saturday. An orange heat wave alert has been issued to all the districts of Telangana State till Saturday by the IMD-Hyderabad.
Based on Telangana State Development Planning Society (TSDPS) data, maximum day time temperatures at multiple locations in Hyderabad ranged between 40 degree Celsius and 41 degree Celsius on Saturday
After a fortnight of chilly weather conditions, where the minimum temperatures dropped to a minimum of 11 degree Celsius in city outskirts, Hyderabad is expected to experience a week full of rain, cloudy weather and minimum temperatures well above 15 degree Celsius at nights
Several localities in the city, including Asifnagar, Nampally, Secunderabad, Saroornagar and Alwal, received light showers towards the afternoon. Secunderabad received maximum rainfall of 0.6 mm on Thursday.
