IMD issues five-day thunderstorm warning across Telangana

Hyderabad: Cyclone Tauktae which affected the weather of several States including Telangana, had light showers greeting various parts of the city on Thursday evening.
The maximum temperature in the city has dropped by at least 5 degrees and today stood at 34.9 degree Celsius, whereas the minimum temperature recorded was 23.6 degree Celsius.
Meanwhile, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), Hyderabad has also issued a warning for thunderstorms at isolated places in the State over the next five days. The experts inform that a low pressure area is very likely to form over north Andaman Sea and adjoining east-central Bay of Bengal around May 22.
The pressure is very likely to intensify into a cyclonic storm by May 24. It will move north-westwards and reach Odisha and West Bengal coast around May 26 morning.
According to the latest developments, experts warn that thunderstorms accompanied with lightning, gusty winds between 30 and 40 kmph, and hailstorms are very likely to occur at isolated places across Telangana.
Districts including Hyderabad, Rangareddy, Medchal-Malkajgiri, Adilabad, Mancherial, Nirmal, Jagtiyal, Pedapalli, Karimnagar, Nizamabad, Kamareddy, Sangareddy, Medak, Vikarabad, Narayanpet and Mahabubnagar are expected receive moderate to heavy rains for the next five days.
