Three huge boulders fell on the ghat road at a curve, blocking the road.
Yadadri-Bhongir: The incessant rains triggered a landslide on the second ghat road of Yadadri hill shrine on Thursday morning. Three huge boulders fell on the ghat road at a curve, blocking the road. No one was injured in the incident as no vehicle passed through the spot when the landslide took place.
The temple authorities swung into action and removed the boulders from the road on a war-footing. The incident highlighted the need to identify vulnerable spots for potential landslide on the ghat road and the need to set up wire nets to prevent such incidents. This is the first time that a landslide occured at the second ghat road, which was constructed as part of the temple development programme. The old ghat road has been closed for the general public and vehicles are allowed onto the hills shrine only through the second ghat road.
