Medak: Indian National Space Promotion and Authorisation Centre (INSPACE) Director (Technical) Rajeev Jyoti has said that India is rapidly advancing in space technology by making significant progress in the field in recent years.
Speaking at a debate organised during the “Wireless, Antenna and Microwave Symposium” (WAMS-2026) at BV Raju Institute of Technology, Narsapur (BVRIT), on Friday, Rajeev said there were abundant opportunities in India and across the world for those aspiring to make a difference in space technology. He appreciated the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), which is organising the 5th WAMS-2026 at BVRIT, and the host institution for bringing together industry representatives, startups, experts and students.
The INSPACE Director (Technical) observed that students and researchers would gain valuable knowledge from the talented pool of participants in the debates. Around 25 companies exhibited their products during the programme. As several national and international experts in the field participated in the debates, Rajeev said students would gain international exposure by listening to their speeches and interacting with them.
He said that the Indian government was keen to support startups in the sector through various funding schemes. Rajeev said the government was also studying the gaps between industry, startups and students. Dr Sanjay Dubey said students had gained valuable experience by interacting with experts such as Rajeev Jyoti.
During another debate on “Women in Engineering”, several women experts shared insights on the achievements of women engineers and the challenges faced by them. WAMS-2026 General Chair BR Sanjeev Reddy and others were present.
